So here we are, the soft launch of Dayventure…
Let's dive straight in. Like many of you, I've been on a quest to hack my productivity. My arsenal? A gamut of tools ranging from Habitica to TickTick, and techniques like habit stacking and Pomodoro sessions. But, here's the twist – I found myself lost in the labyrinth of customisation. Sound familiar?
Cue my 'Eureka!' moment last November. Picture this: I'm driving, soaking in insights from Shaan and Sam on the My First Million Podcast, where they're talking to Ali Abdul about something called 'Adventure Framing'. It hit me – what if I could create something that wasn't just another app on the pile, but a daily quest for that One Big Thing?
Enter Dayventure. A simple productivity app to track the One big thing, inspired by the genius of James Clear's Implementation Intentions. This isn't just about ticking off tasks; it's about making each day an epic adventure in productivity.
Now, let’s talk about jumping into the unknown. I have wanted to start building as an Indiehacker for a while, influenced by indie hacking maestros like Hayden Bleasel and Pieter Levels, I shrugged off the typical warnings about saturated markets. Pieter, in his MakeBook, bluntly states:
"Everybody's doing a to-do list app... And they're too obvious."
Challenge accepted, Pieter. Balancing my full-time job and family life, I've stitched together this MVP. A month of late nights, early mornings, and GPT-4 wizardry, and here we are – Dayventure is ready for its beta debut. And if it all fails that is fine, because it was more about learning and it’s a tool i built for myself!
This is where your feedback becomes the cornerstone of Dayventure's evolution.
Ready to flip the script on your daily goals? Let’s make productivity not just a habit, but an adventure.
Stay tuned for more stories behind the design and build. But for now, let's embark on this journey together.
